Silent Yearnings
The night's about to end, you're here with me,
As we exchange sweet stories wrought in blue;
A chilling embrace crawls up past my knee,
Because of thoughts I dare not share with you.
Your grace pierces deep into my soul's whole,
While we speak, your world entwines close with mine;
A lovely thief you are—my voice you stole,
Then left me eased yet frozen down my spine.
In moments swift, you naïvely smile,
And warmth circles back—straight to my heart's core;
I've known your spirit deeply all this while,
And wonder if we could be something more.
Till hearts align and truth we dare to see,
Perhaps then you'll know what you mean to me.
