Sleeping Beauty
He took my breath away.
And I’m not one to complain,
But the fact that my lungs were so tight,
Writhing and searching for an ounce
Of air
Made me realize
He was no good for me.
How could he be so lethal
In a body so life-giving
With a demeanor of warmth and existential kindness.
He was no good,
And I should’ve stayed away.
But like a spinning wheel
I did more than just prick my finger.
This boy murdered me.
And I’m the one who gave him my throat.
It’s all over now.
He’s in my veins,
He’s in my blood,
He’s in my lungs.
