Love Poem: Some Cathy's Clown

Some Cathy's Clown

Some “Cathy’s Clown”

Tell you how peace
In it’s solitude can break
Convulsing to a raucous din
Scatters the fragmentations of silence
A severance
Despite the quiet
And if to spite the stern waves rolling
In the distance

Tell you how
Under blue blazing skies
The rain falls on reminders
To a tilted hat and shoes splashed
Chill wind in the oven shades
Of sun remarked
A fang of clouds hangs ponderous
In the still wash
Of a vacant sea

Tell you how the engine
Running mechanic and machine
Shuffles its toted miles
Upon a vista
So damnable and serene
The taste of its petrol
Flowers in a plasma coursing
The river and rivulet blood streams

Tell you how deliverance
Can turn a curse
In a day filled life
Full of wasted hours
Just dangled by a noose
In the donkey carrot
Of wished for love

Hung in stupidity
Its broken peace

I was at peace
Till its solitude broke
Convulsed itself to a rancorous din
Scattered the fragments
Of my silence
And some “Cathy’s Clown”
Doesn’t want to be
In love
Anymore

Tell you how the wretched
Lurches from table to table
To drown his sorrow
And dizzy slams his heart against
An Everly Brothers tune
Wanders home searching his feet
Looking for the footsteps
Of a one time peace
He seems now
To have never known

Tell you how all these empty vacant spaces
Can only be filled
By you

Tell you how
Nothing I want
Fills me any more
