Song of Youth In Summer
We drank the milk of stars and moon
and spent the night behind the trees,
remembering games and dirty knees.
In cars and parks, the lazy nights
drifted on like fireflies,
like waves of shining fireflies,
laughing flashes of delight.
With truths discovered, no space for lies –
our hearts and minds collect, combine.
With laughter sparking, no time for cries –
around each other, arms intertwine.
You go away, you don’t go back,
and summer songs go out of tune.
