Sonnet 1
Is life worth living if it’s not for you?
Cold thus the summer, the fields flowerless
Such is the world without thy beauty view
Of eternal gloom my sorrow boundless
As thy presence convince this unsure heart
Life’s worth living if thine love I possess
Believe these words I say before I part
Ever my love be true this I confess
Eternity’s but a moment with thee
Every smile’s a delight to my soul
Let me to the sound of your voice sleep
Never to wake should I not hear you call
Let me live my life with your heart in mine
May my last breath whisper thou art divine.
