Sorry For Keeping You Waiting
Sometimes we sin when we hang on too long,
Others we come far too fast,
Love comes to all those who wait, even laggards
But finding you, open to me? Unsurpassed!
So many years, two divorces, then you!
How’d I come up with this hand?
All of the guilt of past failures has left me,
A “lifetime” alone with my case on remand.
Don’t get me wrong; it’s just more than I dreamed!
You were there waiting for me!
Rough patches seem just to bring us together?
Apparently, we are just where we should be!
Years that I hid out invested in guilt,
(Lucky now!), waiting for you,
Shame (and pride) trap that I lived all those years in
God’s Grace my salvation, so long overdue!
Guilt and our pride masks the Glory of Christ,
Trust that He calls us His wife!
Let me embrace Death, as I do Love given
For these are foundations of God’s plan for life.
