Soulfire
I fell upon a dreadlocked man, with wood he made, with my heart he ran
For never before have i known of such inspiring thought and tempting touch
So to the forest we made our way, with plans of happy, joyful play
The trees did shelter to a degree, but not enough to protect me
As we sat faces aglow, around the fire his head hung low
For what he said he meant no harm, to save me from his free-spirited charm
You may think that denotes the end, for the woodland two that would depend
But something quite wonderful happened that night, with flickering flames and souls alight
Just like a butterfly held too tight will die, we set it free and watched it fly
It landed thankfully on a tree representing what may be
Colour, beauty, dancing wings, our friendship began cut loose of strings
I found a friend and will always be, there for him as he is for me
