Sweet
Sweet as candy dipped in molasses
refined in sun-kissed hue;
I have a tooth for cherry and cake,
I have a taste for you.
When you pass, a glucose ignition
blasts sugar in each vein,
addicted in hope you feel it too,
mere words cannot explain.
Of all the confection in creation,
my hungry eyes beguile,
no sweeter essence lives or breathes
than that which gilds your smile.
Sweet as icing on Christmas day,
or honey-drizzled comb,
I long to know the taste of you
and bring your sugar home.
