Love Poem: Take me to Where Love Learns No More

Take me to Where Love Learns No More

I felt in love when the fog lifted
And showed me the grandeur of my chosen one
I felt in love when dusk gave way to dawn
And brought to me dew from the sweetness of my chosen

I felt in love
Staring out at the raging ocean
Hearing the waves thunder as they keep trying to bring each other down
I felt in love
Yet I also felt that love needed to be learnt
For it came not with a spirit of freedom
Soaring high into the skies with the might of eagles
But it was enclosed in a set of structure
Which had with it, societal norms attached to it

Love, thus, became a lesson that I needed to master
So as to be applauded in the society as being good at it
For I could not be allowed to be myself
And say that love has touched me and I basked in its glow

Love, as a lesson, required perfection on all sides
Without which, I would remain deprived of it
And be deemed, forever, as an empty shell
Which would not echo of those same raging waves
That made me feel in love while I stood, mesmerized, watching them

Grabbing hold of my chosen's hands, I bid him
To take me somewhere,
Where love needs no mastery of any sort
So that the sight of sunsets would always be melting
And the knock of dawn would always be laden with a smile!
