Take My Heart, My Dear
Oh how good is this evening sky
as you come to me in your beauty and all,
so nice to see you my dear.
Tell me, not of your travels,
but of where you had come and gone from,
and we shall sit and listen to the ocean crash on the sandy shores.
We shall drink champagne
and relax by an open fire
and we shall gaze upon the setting sun
and soon the blazing stars
and the fullest of silvery moons.
Take a hold of my hands my dear
and I shall give you something
not most men give to the ones' they truly love,
I shall give you a single key.
That when I meet my Maker,
you shall us this golden key
to unlock the rusted cage that holds my pure heart.
Take my heart, my dear
and listen to it still beat a thousand beats for you
and only you.
The heart for you and only you,
the one the only beautiful girl that brightened up my darkest mornings
and lit a golden path for me in the darkest nights,
when I couldn't find the courage to light a match
or flip the on switch to sun over our heads.
Take my heart, my dear,
I am a poor man,
not much to give,
but a lot of love to share with you and only you,
my dear.
Take my heart,
and hold it close to yours
and feel our hearts two beat as one
for we will soon be together again
and find happiness in our hearts
and be united together forever.
Take my heart my dear
and hold the secrets I kept from you;
find the diamonds and golden jewels
and white pearls that hung around,
like vines and trees of the Garden of Babylon.
You shall know of it all
and be kind to my heart while I am away,
don't bruise it or abuse it
treat it with care and solitude and cherish it.
Love you my dear.
