The Affection of Strangers
To strangers we portray a first impression of our choice
We always employ the a natural tone in my voice
A stranger’s curiosity evokes our own
Mistrust clouds us, kindness is easier to reckon
Their amicable innocence is like a mirror
That cedes unadulterated judgments of who we are
They may have questions we’ve never asked before
Our spirits are released by what they wish to know
A good stranger brings to life what a friend buried
Something free of grudges or scores, only goodwill is traded
Two strangers birth a friendship free and pure
Like a baby’s searching eyes, positivity is the only lure
