The Conversion of St Paul - the Free Flow Style

~The Conversion Of St. Paul~
( Free Flow Narrative )

Walking one day through a very dusty road
About noon, nearing the city of Damascus
And it was then that from Heaven came a very bright
Light that all of sudden around him shone

On his face, upon the ground he fell in fear
And from Heaven this voice said to him
Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting
 Me thus?

Filled of fear Saul asked Him
 Who, who are you Sir?
And He, the one with the voice replied
I'm Jesus of Nazareth, the one you're persecuting thus

What shall I do now for you my Lord?
And Jesus our Lord and King, to him replied
Get up and go quickly into the city of Damascus
And once there you'll be told what to do

Blinded was him by all that intense light
But his devoted companions led him all the way
A very godly man called Ananias lived there
And he came by and stood right beside him

And then he said to him, "Brother Saul"
Receive right here and now again your sight
And just right there and then in that very hour
Saul could see him, restored again were his eyes

The very loving God of our forefathers
Had chosen him to know His will
And to see Him, the Righteous One
And hear Him from now on speak to you

You are to take everywhere His Holy message
Telling the whole world what you've seen
And here in all its content and
Also what you've from Him heard

 So don't delay any longer
Get up and in His name be baptized
Have all your sins in Him washed away
And everything be, in the name of God our Lord

So one day Saul, now renamed by the name of Paul
Was praying to God into the temple
When in a deep trance all of sudden he fell
And he saw the vision of Jesus saying to him

 Hurry! leave Jerusalem right away
For the people here won't believe you
And when you tell them also
 All about me

As he was arguing this with the Lord
 Jesus again repeated to Paul
 Leave Jerusalem right away
For I'm sending you from here far away

To the gentiles instead he was to go
To give them all testimony of God Himself
To be a witness and a very bright light
Teaching all the people and in Jesus's name.

  ~ Author's Notes:

Not fictional at all, but based completely on the Word of God, the Holy Bible.
St. Paul, known as the Apostle to the Gentiles, was born in the city of Tarsus, a Roman city, thereby giving him Roman citizenship. And at his circumcision, he was given the Hebrew name Saul.
