The Crimson Tide

The Crimson Tide

Like the tides of the sea, does your heat beat,
In and out of love with the ones that you held near,
Eroding away the ones who forever bowed at your feet,
But, I promise, I am the boulder that stays buried, and shall forever stay here.
As time drags on, I get smaller, as your love for another grows stronger,
Shall I just let the sands around me erode away, so I can no longer break your crest?
At times you are soft, subtle, and docile. but other times you can rage on like a war monger,
But, please understand, under the circumstances, I had tried my hardest, without rest.
You were controlled by your faith, not only in yourself, but also in me,
I used to listen to your sweet song, as it crashed into my heart,
And as you drifted away, you completely forgot about me,
But as I tried to listen to your distant cry, I was caught in the middle, and it ripped me apart.
I was the stone that bled, and turned your crystal clear waters crimson,
Have you heard the heard the break as you slapped at my base,
I tried to survive the fury of your waters, and even guide you to redemption,
But your tides hit me, made me fall, and slammed into my face.
You went from a tiny stream into a vast ocean from the advice that I gave you,
But now your freezing cold waters have eroded away my face,
This erosion killed me from within, but yet I find solace in faith, and that helps me make it
through.
But now, as I continue to erode in your icy waters, does this pebble feel as if it has a place.
