The Dark Rose of Midnight
A dark mistress, arrives in the night
She brings with her, pure delights
She caresses dreams, she whispers of love
She steals your heart, she swings softly
In the shadows of candlelight
She wrote a poem, one cloudy night
Her words draped around your soul
She brought you wine
She brought you the vine
Life never tasted so sweet
Her curves, winding down the road of life
Hand in hand, heart to heart
I prayed, let us never part
Our souls traveled light years away
Yet by my side, did she stay
And now I kiss lips so sweet
Tomorrow I kiss memories, and so I weep
She has parted to places unknown
As I stare at stone, all alone
I kiss the earth, where she lay
So sad this cloudless day
