The Earth Stood Still

The Earth stood still

Dirty black shoes
Ripped up jeans
Stopping me on the road

We were so young when I first met you

October sky
Dark March nights
Birthdays in July

I was 16 when I looked into your eyes

But you took me
Into your paradise
Leaving me in blue skies
Holding me in moonlights

It was always you

You and my blue sweater vest
Countless days with no rest

When I first met you
The earth stood still
But until

In the end I was the one you had to kill

Friends at first
Lovers cursed
Boys who fear for the worst

I was too young to understand any love

It was always you

Seeing you on weekdays
Leaving me with blood stains

It was always you

Believing you were mine
Leaving me behind
Love and running out of time

You had your ways of making the earth stand still

I was never the one that could fulfill

Running far
Kissing me in the car

The only reason

Holding me under the stars
Creating new found scars

Times move on
Like the seasons

Only you

Wearing your dirty ripped jeans
You were only 16

Always you

Wishing for the ending
Losing me and ascending

Never me

Running like the water
Sell my soul for a dollar

I was too young to understand you

You stayed around to become a tattooed scar
Moving on like there was never a start

A feel of grief could last this long
A feel of grief for someone who is too young

I knew you would leave me on those dark April nights
Leaving you under the stage lights

I’ve come to forget you in six months time

I know you miss me now that my feelings died
And now I’ll leave you in the May sky

But it was only me
Something we could never be

When I first met you the earth stood still
In the end you were the one I had to kill
