The Kola Nut's Promise

In the land of the rising sun,
Where the Igbo people have begun,
A tale of love, so pure and true,
Between two hearts, that beat anew.

The maiden's name was Ekemma,
A beauty, with a heart of gold,
Her eyes, like the morning dew,
Shone bright, with a love so true.

The young man's name was Nnanyereugo,
Strong and brave, with a heart so kind,
He saw Ekemma, and his heart did sing,
He knew in that moment, she was his everything.

He approached her, with a gentle stride,
And presented her, with a kola nut inside,
A symbol of love, and a promise so true,
Ekemma's heart, was forever anew.

The elders gathered, to witness their vow,
As Nnanyereugo and Ekemma, exchanged their promise now,
With a traditional wine, and a prayer so dear,
Their love was sealed, and their hearts did clear.

In the presence of their families, and friends so dear,
Nnanyereugo and Ekemma, did pledge their love this year,
With a bond so strong, and a love so true,
Their hearts belong to each other, forever anew.

Uru an? m, my heart belongs to you,
Forever and always, my love will shine through,
In the Igbo tradition, our love will stand tall,
Uru an? m, my heart belongs to you, my all.
