The Love of Easter Day 2018
Today is Easter morning and it’s different than the rest,
see, my brother and niece Katie are in from out of town-
I don’t see them often, it’s my fault I have confessed,
I get to die eggs with my sweet Katie around.
Oh, there’s nothing like a little girl’s jubilee sound,
for she is my little Easter birdie and I am her nest.
We will go to my heartfelt church in just two hours,
I shall show her the ways of the Lord in my heart-
I ran to the store and bought her favorite tulip flowers,
my only wish is that we never have to part.
For I am her aria of canvas, and she is my art,
and this Easter day has been made just ours.
Easter is about family and being together,
it’s always been my favorite holiday-
I could wrap my sweet Katie up forever
in the pink blanket I bought her on her birthday.
If only I could find the most heartfelt words to say...
that I will never forget this day, no never.
Angels danced the day she was born with grace,
they pranced around with wings God created-
I love seeing the surprised look upon her face,
when she sees her Easter basket, she’s so elated.
In joy and exhilaration she’s definitely saturated,
she’s so lovely in the dress grandma made of white lace.
So I soak in these moments and hold onto them with love,
as I embrace Easter day; it’s all I could ever dream of.
