Love Poem: The Narrow Gate

The Narrow Gate

I am lost
	a blind wanderer
	fear-driven
	and empty.

I leave a mark
	in minds
	that flee
	and disappear.

I talk to death
	that travels
	and roams
	endlessly.

I meet God’s angels
	who guide me
	with light,
	my path
	empty upon their
	discovery.

I am lost
	a blind wanderer
	I create trails
	for those behind me,
	break down
the walls in front of me,
	and confuse
	those around me.

I walk blindly into temptation
	like a child walks into
	the teeth of the devil,
	barricaded in a fortress
	eating the walls
	to escape.

My breath trembles
	for the guidance
	of angels.

I am barren and invisible
	but I whisper a prayer
	out of my inner hope.

Where everyone
	dies alone
	and roaming demons
	capture unknowing souls,
	a defeat led
	by the marching blind
	in eternal darkness
	and left
	forever
	in death.

I am lost
	a blind wanderer
	I crawl through catacombs
	of dying men,
	I realize my sin
and cry out for God’s hand of forgiveness.

I am found
	the newborn wanderer
	I see my life
	as something
	renewed and secure
	as something
	forever in God’s arms
	I see my death
	as something
	initiating my new life
	innocent and fulfilled
	I see my God
	as someone
	who gave His only son
	so I could have
	eternal life.
