The Perfect Morning
The sun beaming in through the windows of my room,
Causing my conscious mind to wake from the gloom.
Rub the sleepy out of my eyes and look to see,
The love of my life laying next to me.
Her beauty still amazes me each and every day,
And I thank God for her I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The sound of little people come busting through our door,
Yelling “Mommy, Daddy no sleeping anymore.”
They climb into our bed with arms held open wide,
Expecting morning hugs and kisses with their starry eyes.
After hours of us all laying together in bed,
We stir to the kitchen where we can be fed.
As Mom and I cook breakfast for us all,
The children run off to play and wait for the call.
We finally sit down to a homemade meal,
While we eat and talk about our daily drill.
I return to my room where I kneel and pray,
And thank God for a “Perfect Morning” every day.
