The Placebo of a Soul Mate
Sure you've talked yourself into believing
that you've found your soulmate.
Although they're deaf to the heartbeat of your muse.
Through verse you've exposed to them
the tender facets of your soul..
Annoyed they quickly scan the lines
(the veneer of courtesy)
then toss them aside like a snot rag
with a hollow compliment stuck to it..
but their dead eyes tell you everything
they could care less about your heart(what you dream).
Even when you're making love to them
they're thinking, "but I'll never make love to your muse".
That's why I think it's possible that you've
settled for the placebo of your real soulmate.
