The Princess and the Bea
A Princess sat on her throne in despair whilst her father bellowed “is there a handsome prince out there?”
“We have waited so long, as a matter of fact, I don’t care how he looks but like a prince he must act!”
The princess stifled a sob and a sigh because her father refused to acknowledge his lie.
It really didn’t seem to matter to him that a handsome (or not!) prince wasn’t her thing!
From morning til night, she sat on her throne, whilst the chatter of suitors buzzed like a drone.
“The Prince of Castify!” Her father declared, whilst the Prince performed skills that he had prepared.
“ His Royal Highness, Prince of the Sea” but the Princess sighed heavily “he’s just not for me”
At the end of another boredom filled day, she went to her room when she vowed she would stay.
She sat with her Aunt in her room in the tower whilst the maid stripped her off and readied her shower.
Her Aunt was the type to set records straight and she left feeling bereft with a king to berate.
The maids touch was tender, a smile played on her lips as her fingers lingered on the princesses hips.
She undid the ties that held petticoats fast and then came the shorts and the knickers were last.
She helped her princess in to the spray
“Please keep me company? I’d like you to stay”
The maid was surprised and did as was asked but kept her pleasure and excitement tightly, firmly masked.
“Please tell me your name, for I know only ‘maid’ and that seems a bit rude for the part that you’ve played?”
“Beatrice, your highness, but just Bea, for short but obviously not when in Palace or Court.
The princesses mother lived down the road and ruled with her own hellish “ethical” code.
“If it makes you happy then I’m happy too but do as I say, not what you want to do”
She wanted her daughter happy, of course, with a prince and a marriage and carried off on his horse.
Nobody cared that the Princess forbade, the Prince coming near her as she wanted the maid!
Let’s go back to the castle and back to the tower where the princess is having an accompanied shower.
The maid, lets for now just call her Bea, was getting the towels and calling down for some tea.
The princess shivered as she got out of the water and Bea wrapped her up, and wished her towel was shorter.
Bea followed the princess in to her quarters where the tea and the cakes had been laid out by porters.
Once dressed in her nightgown and slippers and cape, Bea told the princess “we should just escape”
The princess looked shocked and Bea started to panic as she thought the princess would sack her, the king would be manic.
Princess said “I had no idea you felt the same” so Bea, being brave, asked the Princesses name.
“They called me Gaynor, but my nickname is Nory. Yes let’s run away and write our own story!”
So Bea and Nory, dressed in the finest of splendour, jumped on Beas Harley, her name on the fender.
“Let’s ride in to the sunset, proud of our love” and their laughter rose high up to clouds up above.
If you love somebody, like Nory loves Bea, then don’t hide it away, let everyone see.
Because love is the power that conquers all so when true love comes knocking, answer that call!!
