The Relic Of Yearning

In the expanse of my fervent sky
I let my enraptured heart’s songbird soar high,
glide in the spring-rippled amorous breeze,
bringing your fragrance to me
through the spectrum of spring.

The sunburst dawn splashed
the sequins of ethereal ecstasy,
designing for me the lattice of euphoria
in the domain of depthless desire,
that kept on glowing relentless,
I didn’t see the dark cloud slither
at the edge of the hazy horizon.

The torrent of dreary darkness of night
carried away my ebullient essence of longing
out of my enthralled sight.
I couldn’t hold your hands any longer,
for you freed yourself to walk away
from my ardent embrace.

Splintered in the threshold
of the tarnished twilight of desire,
I wanted the debris of my delight
flung into the vortex of turmoil,
see it disappear with the lightning trail
of the anguished storm,
get sucked into the scorching void of despair.

Through the swell of stifling smoke,
I came out of the ruins,
saw the perennial beauty of life,
embroidered with the charisma of love.
Before my ember conscience
burnt the sanguine soul,
I rose self-consoled from the ashes of memory,
the relic of yearning I kept sequestered.
