Love Poem: The safe place

The safe place

The flashes and glimpses of a,
Time that I remembered.
The happy times.
The joyful times.
Those times that I loved so dearly.
Dreaming of a past that I knew so well.
I felt the darkness as it loomed above,
Then, the storm was quickly approaching.
The fear swallows me as I dream of a man,
He walks with a bright light,
Like none other can.
He surrounds us in a bubble,
Protecting all from the evil.
We watched and listened,
Yet all we heard was,
The complete silence,
Of a grateful nation.
I saw him turn as he held the Trident,
So regal and honored.
I saw the lightning pierce the sky,
Then, when I saw him,
He disappeared into the sea,
No one saw him except for me.
I heard him tell me,
Be safe my child; I shall return,
The storm is almost gone.
I felt a light kiss on my cheek,
Then I remembered it all.
My name is Dominque.
