The Truth
The Truth
A look; a face I somehow seem to know,
Yet so far back in time it seems
That maybe, it was all in dreams
I gave my heart, for all it means;
But yet I know, to you, in time, I’ll go.
The way a smile forms makes me wonder why,
'Tho years have past I love you still,
Whilst imaginations bitter pill
Awakes lost feelings, so I will
Speak at last the truth, and not a lie.
I feel life’s clock move back through empty space.
New histories unfurl through clouded eyes,
Watch other children’s new-born lives;
A family warmed by summer skies;
A dream, where life’s regrets reflect in your face.
We touched, and thought our love would span the years,
So willingly, we took our leave.
No wounded hearts on silken sleeve,
Our lives to live and not to grieve;
Yet every night I see and feel your tears.
