The Vow
This day I make a vow to
live again
This way I take a bow to
leave the rain
And step into the sweet
sunshine that's you
Then send unto the ill-run
night what's due
Debt paid I'll trade my all to
buy your soul
Lest fate fights daylight's
hold to my lone
goal
And shroud your perfect
frame so beautiful
And crowd your curd estate
so bountiful.
The devil you are or a
ghost you be
To make the heat that melts
a rock as me
And send my sleeping heart
to a clock race
That makes a cheetah seem
at a slug pace
How then do I give my heart
and keep it
And what then pumps
the blood that
keeps me fit?
Yet I would gladly pluck it as
I
stand
If breath lingers till it
reaches your hand
The bloody prize of silent
love that is
But some day won't be
strong or sweet as this.
