The Vow
Wake up early in the morning
Put on a dress of white
Something borrowed, something blue
Something you knows he likes
With a hard time sleeping lately
All of your thoughts on him
So soon at the day, vows will be made
New beginnings bringing to an end
Absent mindley you tuck a hanky
Knowing how the tears will flow
The way they did when you last held hands
Not so long ago
As the church doors swing wide open
He is waiting down in front
Once again you gaze on him
With nothing short of love
You have a bit a deja vu
As your father walks you down the aisle
Who's job through life has been to hold you tight
As any father would a child
With tears flowing you stand before him
As you once again repeat your vows
To always love and cherish
As long as memory will allow
That is when the best of men
Step up on both the sides
And gently close the casket lid
On what was once your perfect life
