Then and Then
THEN AND THEN
On first romantic date,
At river-side I met
alone with my soulmate,
when Sun was about to set
And then?
The Sky displayed twilight,
dispersing hues, faint, bright.
Breeze touched us in delight.
Evening tried to merge night.
And then?
We leaned on tree at strand,
Both of us hand in hand.
In silence, we had to stand.
Chirping birds sent errand.
And then?
Charming crescent Moon rose.
He glanced, smiled, came close,
offered a posy of rose.
I took and stood on toes.
And then?
Amazing ambient.
Time paused for a moment.
Posy of rose sent scent.
He took me in arms and bent.
And then?
My desires were fulfilled
With arrow of cupid I was killed.
He kissed me, I was thrilled.
Passionate love was sealed.
