This Thing Will Last
So many things they said last night,
Releasing emotions - kept from sight.
No longer pretending not to need,
As things that grow like dandy-weeds.
For now they admire and care enough to let,
Their feelings and their needs to be met.
Yes, they both came explicitly to view,
Came so fresh like an ocean-breeze do.
Releasing desires, allowing them to feel,
Like two firm hands on a steering wheel.
Delighted to venture down a promising path,
And knows it, as well, as elementary math.
Though, vunerabilities will be tossed about,
Their old mistakes are now locked out.
For they both desire to start all over,
To grow into beautiful, strong, new-lovers.
Last night they found reasons to prolong,
A first encounter that proved no wrong.
Just hours of excitement that went by fast,
Giving them hope ... This Thing Will Last.
