Three Score and Three
Three Score and Three
by Rick Rucker
I am not a youngster, see,
Though I feel like I could be!
I'm on a Magic Carpet ride,
With a lovely Woman by my side.
To begin a Life at such an age,
Will sure become all the rage!
At an age when some could be dead,
I have thoughts of Love in my head!
Some will think me an old fool,
If I didn't go for it, I would feel a "tool!"
I prefer to take a wild Chance,
Believing that I was born for Romance!
In other times, I might have protected the King,
Used a sword, and everything.
Or, earlier still, from my steed I would alight,
In battle regalia, as a Knight!
If I did that, in this day,
They would lock me far away!
I am aligned with an earlier time,
I'm careful to not commit a crime!
I don't want to come to grief,
Behind bars in The Chateau d'if!
My lady looks at me,
And in her eyes, I think I see,
A mixture of disbelief and Lust,
Not knowing if her Heart, or Brain, to trust!
The fire in her Heart I try to fan,
I think it's working, she calls me her Loving, CRAZY MAN!
