Till the Day I Die
In mere, split moments two souls intertwine,
It is a wonder I could ever possibly call you mine
Yet here you are, an enchanted dream,
Life has its twists—things are seldom what they seem!
I could never ask for anything more,
I am speechless—I love you to the core
At times I contemplate so stiff and still,
Wondering if this heaven that is you is actually real
You wrapped your tendrils around my heart,
Your life, your form, is a masterpiece in itself, an art
I, the childish, fearful youth, somehow let you in,
And now all of my fears have left from within
Forgetting all past miseries and tearful laments,
I have grown so much in a matter of moments
How I am grateful for such a precious soul,
Without you I am empty but now I am whole
You cradled my life in a passion so true,
I opened a door and the breeze coming in was you
The stars of night or the brilliant sunrise,
Compare not to your bedazzling eyes
They have seen so much sorrow and endured so much pain,
I wish I could erase all of the bad memories from your brain
But I am merely a girl and only a fortunate few,
Have the opportunity to know of the real you
And if I can, you know I would
Take all of your sorrows away—if only I could. . .
I would lift you far above the mountains on high,
Paint you on every canvas—on every sky
I would show the world below and above,
So everyone could have a taste of your precious love
I never want us to say goodbye…
I promise I will love you till the day I die
