Love Poem: Time

Time

If my love were to die tonight- He hath taken her from me- If I lose my sense of sight; No avail, to clarity. Soon, he will take her away, And he, I can not stop, He is quicker than the day, And illusionary to a cop. So young a stolen soul- And before my score and ten- Time has taken its toll, A mortal can never win. I can not get her back, No money or fervent rhyme, A new life is what I lack, Can love stand the test of time? For time hath made her ill; And she has faded from me, No matter what my will, Time lacks charity. That barbaric figure- Had taken her youth- He will soon steal again, The dark shaded sleuth. A true happy ending, Is one that never ends, I found my love, But time wins.
