Time Will Tell My Love
Across the street in front of my house
A wild dog always parades in front of a house.
A house which though has no fence
Flowering hedges cover this house
There live this angelic lovely lady I love
How do I tell her as she is covered?
Covered by her father, and oh, the dog too!
In the evening, no chance to see her.
In the day time, I go to school far off from hers.
In times I chanced her eyes, I only say in my heart,
‘Come on lady, I need you can’t you see?’
The day I will get closer, I’ll whisper to her, ‘I love you’.
But I was intimidated by her beauty and vandalized with cowardice
The day we met at the street corner when she smiled to me.
Yea, I know now,
Time will come but not now,
When yet inexperienced and cared for and covered
And schooling, and training and trimming and seeking the assurances
Of a secured better future, with hands always stretched for daily bread
From the coverer and allies petitioning my patience for the time to tell
Yes, the time itself will tell my love that I have for love her.
