Tinfoil

Your night in shining armor is...
Just Tin foil in the trash.
You've have been a toy of his.
Just feeding on his stash.
You say it's love, you know it's not.
But you don't really care.
It's just pretend that doesn't end.
It's just bodies each can share!
Living like you are the one...
Who's not the one to blame.
He'll break your heart before it's done.
A fairy tale... I love you game!!!
As long as no one calls you out...
You will live like it's all good.
But that's not what love is all about.
You don't stop it... but yet you could!
It's not what you pretend it is...
And it never lasts too long.
You just another fling of his.
But you act like nothing's wrong.
Your night in shining armor shares...
No delusion that it's love.
You know the truth but neither dares...
To say what they're thinking of!
He makes you laugh, it feels good...
To not have to get too real.
Your knight in shining armor would...
Not admit what he can't feel.
It does not matter right or wrong...
It just matters if you're high.
That what it takes to get along.
But you don't dare to question why!
As long as no one shakes the boat...
Or has to work to pay the bills...
It's easy just sugar coat...
Whatever gives those fuzzy thrills.
That knight in shining armor was...
The one you called best friend...
Quick he was to share the buzz...
But that had to someday end.
You think it's him... he thinks it's you.
But no one takes the blame.
There was nothing more that you could do...
And yet it turns out just the same!
Your knight in shining armor now...
Is just tinfoil in the trash...
Just another boy knew how...
To get you high and make you laugh!
You ignored those warning signs...
Acted like things were pretty cool.
But that shining armor fades sometimes...
When it's just yourself you fool.
I don't know what to tell you girl...
As I see you start again.
He treats you like some priceless pearl.
Although he knows it's just pretend.
Just play along, don't shake that boat...
It's all good you sometimes say...
Those warning signs... you sugar coat...
But you won't ever stop to pray.
I'd say something but I don't because...
You'd just think I wanted you.
So we won't mention how it was...
And we won't talk about what's true!
Now here you go... again I know...
But I'll pretend that I don't see...
I'm just a bit part in this show.
The one who pays your bills... is me.
You'll never think of me again...
Tho you knew I wanted you.
I'd warn you but... I'm not your friend...
Just some guy that your knight knew!
A thousand times this game I've seen...
And it always ends the same!
That knight in shining armor dream...
Just tin foil will still remain!
It's sad to see but who am I...
To rain on your parade.
It would not matter... you'd still try...
Then your hopes and dreams would fade.
So I'm still resigned to never find...
A woman who sees that she...
Leaves her common sense behind...
For dreams that just can't be.
The man who made her laugh moves on...
But she will find another one.
That knight in shining armor's gone.
But for a while it was fun!
Those knights in shining armor are...
Just tinfoil in your trash.
They can't take your dream too far...
So those good times never last.
Life goes on and right or wrong...
You will do it all again.
When your youth and beauty at last are gone.
That's when the fairy tales will end!
But you won't think about someone...
Who wrote you some silly poem...
Who tried to say... in his own way...
You be smart... to just go home!
Those kights in shining armor are...
Damn good at let's pretend!
They make you laugh and share thier stash...
Becoming your best friend.
But the tinfoil in your trash can...
Is overflowing now...
Yet there will always be another man...
Who seems to just know how...
To make you think it's love at last...
When just your body interests him.
He'll become tinfoil in your trash.
And you will do it all again.
But that quiet guy who just seemed shy...
Who'd hoped you you weren't the same...
Is still home alone... he should have known...
There's just some things... will never change!
