To My Child
There will come a day that you'll look back on this life and I can only hope that you'll cherish the knowledge and character I work so hard to bestow upon you. My only wish is that during these moments, you never feel indebted to me. Contrary to popular belief, I gifted you existence, not life. That, however, is what you gifted me in return; and I will spend the rest of my life trying to send it back to you. Let no one, not even I, press the idea that between us I was the teacher. For when I was teaching you how to walk, you taught me how to stand.
