To My Dear Wife
Sorry if I've got high expectations of you
I forgot that no matter how you try
You'll always fall short cause you are you
And you can never be like my mum even if you try
Cause she was a woman born before her time
A wise lady whose words moved
Always knowing what to do at the right time
And even in difficulties, things didn't stall they moved
Cause she saw what her mother did
And how she had to look out for her kids
That's why whatever my mum did
Could be said she did for her kids
Cause she had no off days of being a mum
She had long days trying to give us a life
Days that she never got to see us a mum
Cause she died young, however she'd lived a great life
For in her sunset years she made peace with herself
Spending her life giving even when she had nothing to give
And looking back she did it all by herself
A wonderful strong woman, sister and a mother to ever live
