To My Valentine

To my Valentine

                              As the full moon lights up the sky,
                                 So you brighten my lonely life
                                To fill it with wishes true and high
                              And make my life an easier strife;

                            The mere sound of your joyful voice
                                 Ignites truly my whole being,
                                Drives away all nasty noises
                            And kindles the beats of my feelings;

                              The rapture of your gentle smiles
                                Elevates the pace of my breath
                              And vibrates in me for a whole while
                             Like the perfume of a perfect wreath;

                             Our life has witnessed ups and downs,
                               At times with some petty squabbles
                                Or sometimes with a paltry frown,
                             But down with love they were settled;

                               Our own trust has been cemented
                            Not with wild words to quell down fears,
                           But through deeds and actions dispensed
                                To express mutual love and care;

                               Our life has been an art of living
                              With the tale of love and sharing,
                                  Of live and let live together
                                And of caring for each other:

                          When fate had dealt a blow to my health
                                 You were ever by my bedside,
                             Caring for me as would no-one else
                                 Without swinging a single sigh;

                          When hopes for healing had dipped low
                             And my spirits had suffered a blow,
                                 You were ever just by my side
                                 To turn around the lowly tide.

                             While our youthful hue has gone by,
                            While the wrinkles of age are at hand
                              And the wings of time fly up high,
                            Let me set down our tie with my pen;

                            As long as the moon will light the sky,
                              As long as stars will shine up high,
                                  As long as the rays of the sun
                               Will brighten the distant horizon,

                             As long as waves will flap the reefs,
                          As long as will stand mountains and cliffs,
                                As long as rivers will flow to the sea,
                                   As long as earth will offer a lea,

                            As long as will chime the clock of time,
                              You shall for me be my Valentine,
                                     As beyond our bodily tie
                                The union of two souls does lie;

                               Our love will outlive our last breath,
                             Its perfume will spread far and wide
                                   As long as will exist on earth
                             Gardens with two roses side by side;

                                   Our tie is not just corporal,
                                      Nor is it at all temporal,
                                 But sure, sacred, and spiritual
                                     And above all it`s eternal.
