To the Rich Lady Who Once Loved Too Much
When ashamed of failings yet honored in her eyes
I am urged in His strength to be calm, stay silent
Virtues like caring and sharing surprise us
Now that chivalry is dead, modesty undressed
Cycles of the heart are renewed by Love’s lesson
As lithe children, we paused play to help one who tripped
Since Sunday School we know the Good Samaritan
Grown, we shelve these truths – recycle them for our kids
Grown men and women still fall; we need a kind hand,
An embrace … when Summer cycles to Autumn (Fall)
Chins drop, hair falls … worse, there’s the ex-wife, ex-husband:
Viola! Sun in the clouds – kind words make me recall -
Heaven wants us to commune; with Love as backdrop
We touch, we cringe, we blush … but Kindness can’t be stopped
