Love Poem: Today

Today

Living under the city lights, the neon reds and fluorescent whites.
Searching for the open sky, never really knowing why.
Hiding out in the crowded street where the people wander incomplete.
Dodging all of the speeding cars you can only go so far...

Tomorrows come and tomorrows go. Yesterday was so long ago
I often wonder where I should be, life is such a mystery
But walking through a parking lot I will steal a kiss and hope to get caught
I'll take your hand and you will say that at least we have today.

And we'll dance and we'll play and we'll make our troubles go away
And we'll laugh and we'll say that at least we have today.
And we'll sing and we'll shout and we'll turn our problems inside out
And we'll laugh and we'll say that at least we have today.

I've never given up on dreams no matter how bad life may seem.
And I have never run away, try to forget yesterday.
As long as you are by my side I'll never need a place to hide.
Because you take my hand and say that at least we have today...

And we'll dance and we'll play and we'll make our troubles go away
And we'll laugh and we'll say that at least we have today.
And we'll sing and we'll shout and we'll turn our problems inside out
And we'll laugh and we'll say that at least we have today.

Living under the city lights. No wasted days or forgotten nights
We will always be together. Our love will last forever.
Tomorrows come and tomorrows go. What they'll bring I just don't know
I don't care, it's too far away and at least we have today

And we'll dance and we'll play and we'll make our troubles go away
And we'll laugh and we'll say that at least we have today.
And we'll sing and we'll shout and we'll turn our problems inside out
And we'll laugh and we'll say that at least we have today.
