Tomb
“A member of our family-
a heart of gold- eyes just for me.”
_by Poet
My Charlie Cat lies in his tomb
with his old toys and lots of room.
The years flew by, yet still, my gloom
has never passed but stays abloom.
So many years have slipped away.
Near our stone wall, my heartstrings lay,
and as I pass there every day
I throw a heartfelt kiss his way.
I think about that time I'll leave;
who will be left to love and grieve,
as then my tomb I will perceive.
Oh, what a sad time now I weave.
Who'll throw him kisses, say his name;
recall fond memories, exclaim
the love we shared, to still proclaim?
Those future days won't be the same.
My heart beats with a saddened moan
to think I'll leave him there alone.
But hopefully, from each gravestone,
we'll meet again in Heaven's zone.
