Too Far Gone

The full moon rises high
in the star studded bejeweled sky.
The night dons silky azure attire,
romantic as ever like my love.
The full moon will rise again,
but this night of yearning,
fading away, will not return,
for it’s too far gone.

In my garden I nurtured for you,
the rains fall to gently embrace
the tree leaves with lustrous grace.
In the melting hue of rainbow,
the flotilla of dream cloud drifts away.
The rains will fall again,
but this cloud fleet will not return,
for it’s too far gone.

You celebrate your birthday every year,
with me around candles of love.
These times are indelibly painted
in the canvas of my mind,
drifting with me like a leave in the wind.
Your birthday will come again,
but this leaf will not return,
for it’s too far gone.
