Trepidations

Fantasies take fledgling feelings, far beyond infatuation. For when passion's flame ignites; it burns with pure exultation. Hypnotized by your sexy smile; I believed you truly loved me. And my altered reality showed me what I wanted to see. When we'd share intimate moments, my doubts would swiftly slip away. Yet, you took advantage of me, deftly leading my heart astray. Stunned by betrayal and deceit; a sea of tears morphs into fear. Your lies have muddied the waters; now my future's no longer clear. An eruption of emotions explodes in all of its fury. And facing an onslaught of hurt; anger becomes judge and jury. Yet, despite my trepidations, I admit, I will miss your charm. But when I'm tempted to forgive, my broken heart sounds the alarm.
