Unwritten Price
It's a silly dream of you and I
To walk this dangerous path of absolution
Every day we ask each other why
Too scared to breathe and too drunk to run
Intoxicating, the way we speak in glances
Following our path with reckless abandon
So out of touch from lives of second chances
How bitter we are, from games never won
At the brink of the abyss, we share a forbidden kiss
Homophobic stares are the best we can hope for
The unwritten price to pay for moments full of bliss
Their weapons are sharpened slurs, more violent than before
Laughing like we know, we should have died years ago
So what's the harm in throwing caution to the wind?
Somehow we never lost our minds, in spite of all we know
Holding on, we tilt our heads, to see a bit better around the bend
