Valentine
On the night we first met, stars were shining bright
Somehow, I knew we'd become more than friends
I offered you a yellow rose in the glow of moonlight
while I was thinking, "I hope this feeling never ends."
Six months later we tallked about hopes and dreams
I gave you six pink roses as we gazed at stars above
We shared tender kisses beneath pale moonbeams
and for the first time, we spoke sweet words of love.
At eight months we were planning a future together
Inside a bouquet of twelve red roses, I had tied a ring
We married in the summer on a hillside of heather
and today you told me there'd be a baby in Spring.
Our child is your Valentine's gift for me, so I have two
dozen white roses and delicate baby's breath in a vase.
Beribboned for my Valentine in a shade of baby blue.
May we always be content, wrapped in love's embrace.
