Wars No More
Do not tell tales of wars to children,
Tell them stories of universal love;
May costumes of a charming war patron,
Be restored by physicians true cure shove;
Lasting be divine graces from above...!
May no toy-guns take the place of teddies,
Innocence be moral midst joyful games;
May each child grow up as always readies,
Taking risks for others with no self-claims;
May compassion grow as great constant aims...!
In the leisurely pleasure-ride of life,
May weapons occupy no vital space;
Smooth industriousness and soothing strife,
Enchant the existence of human race;
May ethics, in each step, be solid base...!
May fields of corns increase; not battlefields,
May green revolt outwit the bloody red;
May sickles and plows replace safety-shields,
May each one earn their needed daily bread;
Even in our nightmares, be no bloodshed...!
