We Are Not Dust
Dust we are not
There is a destiny, a future untold that I am not able to see, my future self is a mystery to me, I can’t imagine who I am intended to be, my future stranger scares me
We are not from dust, never born to be, so the thought we return to what we are not is absurd to me
A simpler explanation there has to be, a journey waits for the chosen to see,
but first is this life to live before we are set free
No one alive ever asked to be born, a miracle of creation from sanctuary torn
the promise of prosperity never sworn, the measure of a lifetime to praise or mourn
Reflect on who you are and the clothing worn, the reward for your accomplishments is the chance to be reborn
Embrace the beauty of the rose and respect the thorn, they are there as a reminder to respect and so thus are adorn
Faith is out trust and through fear, we must believe there is more than is presented before us
we move on to enlighten greatest but we were never dust
