Wedding Wine
Amidst, this verse of love and bliss
It brings to mind a fragile kiss
As emotional eyes, exchanged the words
His whisper of undying love, unheard
Tears flowed like wedding wine
Their hearts recalled, when they'd first met
Pounding I'll miss you and no regrets
Soft motionless hand, one last caress
Half-smile from parched lips, in tenderness
Tears flowed like wedding wine
For 25 years they'd laughed and dreamed
Sang and danced in their fairy tale scene
Lived and loved at work and play
Through the good and the bad together prayed
Tears flowed like wedding wine
Neither could mouth the words goodbye
When she died she blew him a farewell sigh
As she left he sobbed to wait for him
And vowed they be together again, then
His lips savored, her last drop of wine
