WHAT I HEARD ABOUT LOVE a sadistic paradox
What I heard about love,
It’s so sadistic and pathetic to the core.
They claim, “It’s the judge, jury and executioner”
The rumors sounded surreal and so real
It’s a mutual tolerance,
Of an agreement signed by fools.
Ink, that slowly fades into the blue
Leaving the hue of the unforgiving cue.
At least, that’s what I heard about love!
So much pretense,
From our “Judge, jury and executioner”
Claiming to be the cure
That brings deliverance,
Like that priest on the podium, at a Sunday service
At least, that’s what I heard about love!
Bitter, sweeter?
Too much clutter in the chatter,
Like it was raised in the gutter.
Don’t believe in it,
It only makes you weaker.
At least, that’s what I heard about love!
You wait for it, patiently
You give it your all, unconditionally.
It comes, and leaves painful wounds
You patch yourself, eagerly
But the scars will still bleed, profusely.
At least, that’s what I heard about love!
Love lies, my son
Love entails betrayal
Love feeds off of the believer’s heart
Love isn’t innocent
Love is just another illusion
In the magician's bag of tricks.
At least, that’s what I heard about love!
Love is death,
By a thousand knives
With instant reincarnation
Just to experience your death,
All over again!
At least, that’s how they expressed themselves,
When we talked about this creature,
Called “Love”.
Love is for the weak,Hatred is for the meek.
That’s why we have murderers,
Because, love is unconditional pain
Which does not deserve to be given!
At least, that’s what I heard about love!
