What Is Love
What is this state that man calls Love?
Not the same as our God above,
for no resemblance does it bear,
to the God we seek in our prayer.
“God is Love”, the only true source.
So here’s the point of this discourse.
What man calls love is not from God,
let’s see what’s revealed as I prod.
In youth man’s love is mostly lust,
doomed to fail without a deep trust.
Young adults don’t do much better.
Wanting things done, to the letter.
As we age more kindness we show,
There’s still more room for love to grow.
Slowly it begins to appear.
Two become one, the signs are clear.
We’re thankful to God for all His care,
As He made us one from a pair.
Seeking Truth and Love from the start,
true love came from Him through our heart.
We allow love through us each day,
Man’s love changed to loving His way.
His perfect Love will never fail.
It’s at the top of any scale.
So man’s love is not the real deal,
It’s much bigger than just a thrill.
True Love’s not man’s, I hope you know.
With opened hearts God’s Love will flow.
