What Shall I Compare Thee To
What shall I compare thee to?,
A warm summers day,
Not a cloud in the sky,
With a slight gentle breeze,
But the day will pass on by,
A lily of the field,
In which God has clothed,
But it is here today,
And tomorrow no more,
What shall I compare thee to?,
A refreshing drink of water,
With a glacier al birth
Running down a high mountain stream,
But again I will thirst,
A wonderful dream,
Teasing me in the night,
But that too will end,
Come the morning light,
What shall I compare thee to?,
One of God's great gifts,
Of two becoming one
Both of us together,
With the father and the son,
Visitors in this world,
That will soon pass away,
Into a wonderful new kingdom,
And a dawning new day,,
This will I compare thee to.
