When Death Comes

I want to believe that when I die, angels will take away all my fears. I will enter a tunnel of light; and rise in their angelic embrace. God's everlasting love will anoint and sanctify my eternal soul. And amidst His grace and purity, I'll be free of temptation and sin. Exhalation will define Death's touch as it separates body and soul. And instantly, I'll be in heaven, assured of my immortality. Cutting earthly ties, my spirit will slip away from my mortal body. And cradled in the arms of rapture, I'll bask amidst the glory of God. I'd like to believe that is all true, but unfortunately, I do not. What I believe is life is finite, and when Death comes, I'll merely blink out.
